Health at Huntey's
We perceive health and well-being through three fundamental aspects: mental, physical, and emotional. With a focus on these pillars, our objective is to model healthy habits and cultivate positive routines in children from an early age. Consistency, positive reinforcement, and a supportive environment play crucial roles in helping children develop and maintain healthy habits across all three pillars of health.
Physical Health
Balanced Nutrition: Educate children about the importance of healthy choices and balanced meals, using our curated menus that avoids high sugar and artificial dyes. We involve them in portioning out their meals through our family style meal preparation. Learn more about nutrition here.
Adequate Sleep: Daily rest time ensures they get enough sleep for their age, as it is crucial for physical and mental well-being.
Regular Exercise: Incorporate fun physical activities into their routine, such as dance and outdoor play.
Teeth Brushing: Beginning in young preschool, children start their toothbrushing routine. Find more information about our procedures here.
Hearing & Vision Screening: We partner with local health departments to provide screening to preschool students free of charge.
Emotional Health
Open Communication: Create a safe and open environment where children feel comfortable expressing their emotions.
Empathy: Teach empathy by helping them understand and recognize emotions in themselves and others.
Positive Reinforcement: Acknowledge and praise positive behavior to boost self-esteem.
Mental Health

Encourage Curiosity: Foster a love for learning by encouraging children to explore and ask questions.
Reading Habits: Introduce a variety of books to stimulate imagination and cognitive development.
Healthy Routines & Cleanliness
Consistent Schedule: Each classroom has an age appropriate a daily schedule that includes designated times for sleep, meals, play, and learning. Establishing a consistent routine not only provides children with a clear understanding of what to anticipate but also fosters a sense of comfort in their environment. When children know what to expect and what is expected from them, this can significantly reduce occurrences of challenging behaviors.
Screen Time: There is a minimal presence of screen time at Huntey’s Clubhouse. When screen time is permitted, it involves content that has been carefully vetted for age and developmental appropriateness. We strategically use screen time as a tool during transitional periods and for activities like music and movement, such as dance-along videos. It’s important to note that children aged 2 and under do not have any screen time.
Cleanliness: We use a combination of professional cleaning crew and dedicated team members to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Throughout the day, the team members follows our 3 step sanitizing policy and other cleaning protocols ensuring that all surfaces, play areas, and toys are regularly disinfected.
As an additional measure, we employ the use of a sanitizing gun on a weekly basis. This advanced sanitization tool allows us to reach even the most challenging areas, providing an extra layer of protection against germs and viruses. The sanitizing gun is part of our comprehensive strategy to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, offering peace of mind to both parents and caregivers. We utilize a hospital grade, pH neutral effervescent tablet that dissolves easily in ordinary tap water and becomes a multi-purpose, EPA registered disinfecting and sanitizing solution. Although this tablet is created specifically to use at child care center, our policy states that we do not use until the end of the day or on a Friday to allow maximum drying time.
We believe that a clean and sanitized environment not only promotes the health of the children but also creates a space where they can thrive, learn, and play comfortably. Our commitment to maintaining these rigorous cleanliness and sanitization procedures reflects our dedication to the well-being of the children in our care.
