Gift Ideas for Kids

December 2, 2022

Hello! Our Preschool Center Director, Mrs. Trisha Kwant, shared this great compilation of gift ideas for preschoolers.

Pocket of Preschool: “Holiday time and birthdays are full of gifts!  During the holidays and around their child’s birthday, families ask me for gift ideas and suggestions.  They want to buy quality toys and activities for their child.  As teachers, we understand the importance of choosing open-ended, appropriate toys and activities.  We carefully plan and select what toys go on the shelves and what activities we do together in our classroom.

We, as teachers, know that play is vital to a child’s brain development!

We want families to give gifts that support play (aka not technology or toys that do all the work for them).

When a child plays, they are developing social skills, problem-solving skills, language skills, communication skills, cognitive ability, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, self-regulation, creativity, and so much more!  I created a FREE printable list to send home to families that is full of ideas on gifts they can give.  The list has tons and tons of ideas.  Families will be able to pick quality toys and activities based on their child’s interests, strengths, weaknesses, hobbies, or budgets.”
