Meet Milo, Therapy/Emotional Support Dog!
Milo is a golden retriever and will be joining the Huntey’s Clubhouse family to serve as a therapy/emotional support dog for the children inside of our centers. Milo enjoys tennis balls, chew toys and stuffed animals. He loves to be held, snuggled and when people stop to pet him! If you see him in the hallways, be sure to say hello.
Having a therapy/emotional support animal inside of a childcare center can have many benefits. Studies have shown that interaction with dogs helps to release oxytocin inside of the brain. Interaction can also lessen depression (for children and adults), encourage child communication, provide comfort, decrease anxiety and increase socialization. Dogs also provide sensory stress relief and reassurance for children with Autism or social anxiety.
